Poured into a snifter.
A - Jet black with a one-finger light tan head. Rings of lacing.
S - Medium strength aroma of milk and dark chocolates, booze, ash, and a bit of candied caramel.
T - Lots of chocolate forward but with a nice bitter roast stout underbody. Some wood in the mid-palate. Bit of smoke in the finish. Not complex, but tasty.
M - Somewhat thin body with more carbonation than expected (medium). Slightly oily.
O - Decent, but not sure if I would rebuy.

12oz bottle from Top Shelf Liquors (Cottonwood, AZ). 2.79. No bottle dating but I assume this was a late 2014 release. Served in a goblet.
Pours black with a half finger of pale tan head. The tightly packed bubbles recede to a thick collar and a near solid layer of froth accross the surface. Despite the healthy retention there are relatively few patches of lace.
Lots of sweet white and dark chocolate on the nose. A little roast, some caramel and hints of dark fruit.
The roasted malts are much more apparent in the flavor, coming to the forefront upon first sip. Dark chocolate, burnt sugar, mild coffee, light herbal bitterness, notes of earth, very subtle white chocolate and a nip of alcohol. Not a bad chocolate stout.
Medium body with dull but active carbonation. Bittersweet aftertaste with notes of coffee, heavily kilned malts and dark chocolate.
Mudshark's Abominable Winter is a decent stout but doesn't quite deliver the white chocolate I was hoping for. I think it might be worth a try but not a hunt.

Sitting in Tucson and sampling my first; this beer is a heck of a lot better than the rating suggest!

buddy picked me up a 12oz from arizona, been aging it till now...
decided to store for its appealing label, & @ 9.6%, figured why not, sediment(chocolate & not yeast?) present @ storage rose slightly in 4mth sit
Pours black with a slight brownish-orange tinge/ white head. carbonation still apparant, as head wanes yet remains.
smells as you'd expect an imperial stout: smokey, licoricey but with a sour finish
tastes sour, i'd swear it a flemish! little hints of the chocolate spectrum it boasts hide in dry after taste. beer as potent as wine, buzzin after one 12oz

This has to be one of my favorite beers right now. The pour is a very dark brown/black with dark tan head. It clings to the glass as you drink it down. Strong smells of coffee, chocolate, and you can smell the alcohol. Has an even stronger coffee taste to it. Hits of chocolate and a smokiness flavor. Leaves a bit of a dry feeling in your mouth.
My biggest beef with this beer is that I can't buy it year round.
