As I have gotten older, I have developed into a beer snob (meant in a good way!). I had frequented a different place, something about winking lizard. I thought that place had a great beer selection. If you think that is true, World of Beer blows that away!!!
I think there are like 500 bottled beers and 40-50 drafts. For those that are not too famaliar with lots of different beer styles it can seem overwhelming. It is totally worth working through that initial "wow" factor. There is a great app you can download on your smart phone that helps you track what beers you have had and lets you rate them so the app can give you suggestions of what to try.
I was surprised that they serve NO FOOD. Sounds weird, but you can order food from local restaurants and they deliver it to your table. Once I got use to this part I love this idea. If I am going out with a couple of friends for some food and great beer we don't have to limit what kind of food we have to get. All 4 of us can get food from 4 different restaurants. I think this is just awesome!!!
So when we go out to World of Beer, we get a HUGE beer selection, whatever type of food we want, sports on the flat panel TV's and LIVE MUSIC on the weekends. We get a little of everything.
Another GREAT thing about the beer selection is that you can't get your bland and boring bud light, coors light, etc. That swill is not available at World of Beer, only the finest quality selection of craft/import/micro brews. Thank God for that!!
I think I have found a new great place to go...to continue my beer snobbery! ;-)

Stopped in here for a quick beer after dinner at Columbus Brewing Restaurant.
The tap list is mighty big, as you'd expect, with a daunting bottle list as well. Being from New York, there was a lot of great stuff here that I wouldn't be able to try at home. We only had time for one beer, so I settled on a cool B-cut- Thirsty Dog Rum Barrel Aged Wulver. It was amazing. The people there are quite friendly, and pretty knowledgeable, they helped my girlfriend, not a huge beer lover, pick something they thought she'd like.
No food, but you can apparently order from around the neighborhood. Huge space, warehouse type feel, with some outside seating. Lots of huge TVs, would be good if you want to watch sports here.
Prices are slightly high compared to other places around the city I went.
