12 oz can. Pours brown with a medium frothy tan head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is nice roasty chocolate malts.

The flavor is roasty chocolate malts, nuts and some brown sugar. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a solid brown which is not my favorite style. I remember liking it a bit better on tap.

Small light brown head settles to a quarter inch froth above a clear dark brown to black colored beer.

Very light dark roasted malts aroma that seems to have a light sweetness to it.

Vary dark roasted malts with some dark chocolates in a the taste.

Dry aftertaste with quite a bit of the dark malts taste remaining behind with this medium to full bodied beer.

Pretty taste brown ale, I'm glad I tried it.

Poured from tap into imperial pint at Euclid hall Denver. Nice creamy head over a deep amber brown. Some nice roasted coffee malts and sweet chocolate aroma. Flavor of sweet chocolate but mainly roasted bitter malt. A bit over bitter but it plays nice with the sweetness. Its super dry...but overall a damn good brown. Would love on cask...

Poured into a shaker pint glass.

Look: The muddiest, murkiest brown color. A cream colored head that retains well. Light rings of lacing.

Aroma: Sweet bready malts, nutty, chocolate fudge.

Taste: Sweet bread, toffee-like sweetness. Nuts and chocolate.

Mouthfeel: Mefium bodied.

Overall: One of my favorite brown ales so far, really complex.

I am currently in Denver, touching base, but not much more, with The Old Lady aka Ma Petite Abeille and the preponderance of CANned craft beer is astounding! It is enough to send The CANQuest (TM) into overdrive, but the problem is a lack of singles and I CANnot lug that many beers around, so a CANundrum arose. Fortunately, I am an old school pen & ink type of guy and if I CAN drink and review it at the bar, then so be it, geekery be damned!

Fresh Craft on Blake Street became my source for three such CANs, so this is transcribed from notes dtd Tuesday, 30 July 2013.

From the CAN: "Brewed High - 8750'"; "A beautiful hybrid of English and Ameri[CAN] Brown Ale that explodes with aromas of toffee, chocolate, and nut balanced hop forward with German Noble and big Ameri[CAN] aroma hops ... don't be afraid to et down with the best Brown around! Cheers, Chris Fish, Brewmaster/Co-Owner"; "Snow Melt, Malted Barley, Ameri[CAN] & German Hops, Yeast"; "GABF Gold Medal 2012 Aeri[CAN]-Style Brown Ale."

My server made the initial pour, so I was only a party to the Crack & Glug, rather than being directly involved. He produced a finger of light-tan head with good retention. Color was a deep, dark-brown with limited light penetration only at the edges. Nose was rich, chocolaty, slightly smoky. Ooh. Mouthfeel was medium with a taste like liquified Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate. A slight bitterness cut through the intense smoky charcoal taste. Wow! Finish was very chocolaty with an interesting lingering smokiness. I wish that the mouthfeel had been a bit creamier, but that was my only ding on this beer.
