On tap at the Casual Pint in Knoxville.

A: Dark brown; clear but near opaque. Very durable tan head with excellent lacing.

Flavor: super mix of hops (light). dark and medium roast malts, and chocolate. Coffee, dark chocolate and a touch of smoke in the finish.

Feel: Medium-light body; well-chosen medium-light carbonation.

O: easilly the best I've tried from this brewery. (380 characters)

Appearance: Arrives with a fudge brown color and a thick mocha cap; a fair amount of lacing is left

Smell: Fudge and black bread

Taste: Fudge and black bread, up front, with fruity hops building in the middle; the finish brings a return to the chocolate though the hops continue to add a nice contrast

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Having not noticed them in the aroma, the fruity hops were a bit of a surprise but added a nice counterpoint to what would otherwise have been too sweet and chocolatey; I suspect the brewer is a fan of Edmund Fitzgerald (588 characters)

On tap at Sunspot Restaurant. Was served a little too cold, in my opinion.

A: Very dark, opaque brown, almost black. Two finger tan head with some lace.

S: Chocolate, amazingly enough. Hints of toffee, coffee, vanilla and caramel.

T: Similar to aroma, chocolate and coffee. Very mild hops and mild bitter aftertaste. Just a hint of alcohol.

M: Seemed a bit thin but I'm not familiar with chocolate porters so may be appropriate.

Overall very nice. Good balance between chocolate, malt and hops. Not too sweet, not too bitter -- VERY drinkable. Nice beer for a cold night. (579 characters)
