on tap at The Old Fashioned in Madison, WI. pours a rich amber color with a single finger of creamy, eggshell colored head that has great retention and leaves solid lacings. looks great in the glass.
aroma is of caramelized malts with a concentrated character and a caramelized sugar note in the background. lager yeast is throughout with a mildly floral base.
taste is more of the same with a lightly floral note mixed in. nicely composed with a distinct lager character on the back end. tasty, and true to a good steam beer.
mouthfeel is medium bodied with a malty texture and a finish of residual semi-dry lager yeast on the finish and residual.
drinkability is good. fresh and flavorful with a well composed aura and a drinkable lager quality. goes down smooth and finishes smooth as well. good for a Titletown brew. cheers!
Serving type: on-tap
