Pours a deep dark brown with a two finger cream head.
Smells of yeasty bread, roasted malts, and sweet toffee.
Coffee notes, more maltiness, and a warm finish of alcohol. I feel a hint off sweetness on the tongue but the finish moves more towards bitter.
Nice coating of the tongue and a medium body with great mouthfeel.
Glad I got to try. Not my favorite style of beer but very enjoyable for a $6 bomber.

From the tap at Titletown brewpub. A deep brown color with little head, the smell is mostly that of coffee which carries over to the taste. Actually coffee to me was the predominant flavor almost as it was coffee however there was some caramel too, and chocolate. Very creamy, low carbonation, medium body. A pleasant experience overall.

A-transparent dark brown liquid, vitrually black, with hues of red shining through. The color is a light coffee colored, a little thick, some retention but very little and no lace is left on the glass
S-the nose is very faint and doesn't give off very much. In struggling to find the nose I get just a touch of slightly burnt coffee up front with notes of caramel and toffee. Very little dark fruit comes through but does add a hint of sweetness. Seems to be a light herbal hop finish in the back.
T-the taste is also a little light. The roasted and burnt flavors are almost completely gone in the taste as the dark fruity sweetness does pick up. The front has just a hint of roasted, slightly burnt coffee with a good bit of dark chocolate. The finish brings a hop presence with herbal notes a decent amount of bitterness.
M-the feel is a good sized medium body and extremely smooth. This feels so nice on the palate. The carbonation is lacking a little making the finish feel thin. It is slightly dry in the back and coats the mouth.
D-this is actually a very easy drinking beer and you would never know there was 9% abv. It seems like a light tasting Schwarzbier as it goes down easy. The flavors, unfortunately, also are very light and nothing really opens up for the big abv.
