The beer was releases on 12-12-12 in honor of a certain quarterback for the hometown football team. It is described as a cream ale spiced with twelve pounds of West-coast hops and fermented with "Chico" yeast. The West-coast hops are a tip to the home town of the quarterback.
The ale poured a golden yellow with a generous white head. Trace amounts of lacing were left in the glass as the beer went down. A mild hoppy aroma was present with some hints of citrus. In the initial taste, one notes the mild citrus flavor of the hops. This is far from being a hop-bomb, hitting different nuances of hops. There is a certain earthiness, citrus notes, and a mild sting on the tongue. The corn, which makes this a cream ale, is evident in the background. Fairly thin, as an ale should be, the carbonation was average. The hops were brushed away by the carbonation, leaving a mild citrus aftertaste. I would say that this is far from spectacular offering for the best football player in town. I love Titletown, but this is not their best effort.
