Poured chilled in short lager glass
A: dark orange, good head (2 finger), good carbonation, decent lacing
S: light, a bit tinny overtones to a malt-based aroma
T: honey; nice light touch of dark-roasted barley (doesn't come through in the color); bitter; a bit off-balance; not enough malt?
A decent ber.

From BeerAdvocate magazine Issue #60 (Jan 2012):
LOOK: Sparkling gold
SMELL: Rough grain, herbal, chemical, caramel, nougat
TASTE: Smooth, muted hop bitterness, grainy, chemical, dry, overripe apple, husky grain, bitter, yeast
Industrial comes to mind; bitter and hardly drinkable. Why is there a need for sulfites? This beer is just a hodgepodge of odd or off flavors. We can't imagine what Hatuey tasted like back in 1927 when the brand was originally brewed. Bacardi U.S.A. should stay out of the beer business.

First time I tried this beer I was impressed; it pours to a yellow ochre and forms a half inch head that quickly dissipates, the scent of hops and some citrus hits my nose; somewhat bitter and little carbonation is detected as I had my first mouthful. I goes down easy and it is refreshing; this is a beer I’d had at a summer time picnic or after gardening in a hot summer’s day…and remember folks to support your local brewery DRINK BEER!
