The Spot in Pt. Beach has over 2 dozen beers on tap and many more in bottle, but the main draw for me is the bartenders, (and Hoegaarden in bottle). Tom, Tom, and Mae never fail to make the visit a pleasure. The bar pies are pretty good and the food is just ok. Go for the beer and have some food if you get hungry. They have an outside eating area with a fireplace that looks inviting, but never tried, probably because it is on the highway. If you like to try different craft beers, they always have something different ontap. Stop in on tuesday night and listen to some local musicians. Harry and Joel on some nights. All in all, one of the better stops in the area.

best place to grab a craft beer in the area. food not great but not bad. their pizzas are very good. currtently on tap terrapin hopsecutioner, goose island ipa, sieera nevada syndicate, old dominion oak barrel stout, river horse hip-o-lateen, amongst others. very good prices $4 pints on tuesdays i think.
the place is always very clean and a great place to watch a football game. plenty of new big screen tvs and usually food specials during the games. on the other side of the building is th spirits liquor store with either 10 or 12 beers on draft at their growler station. the spirits always has better beer on tap for growler fill then they have on tap at the spot.i was there yesterday. i dont remember all the beers they had fro growler fill, but they had dfh burton baton and southern pumpking at very reasonable prices

Reviewing this place, because it is one of the few places on the jersey Shore to be able to get a good selection of craft beers. I have been drinking craft beer here on the shore for years, and usually it is something that must be done at home, but the Spot finally gives a place to be able to go out and grab an excellent beer with a friend.

The food is just OK. As far as places on the shore go, I would never choose this place if I was just looking for food. It is not bad, but there are many better options, and several within less than a mile away (Frankie's, the Ark just to name a couple)

The service is really good. Not very knowledgeable, but very friendly and attentive.

I give the selection a 5 because of where it is located. Jersey Shore is all about BMC- so having a place where you can get some rarer Dog Fish, Great Divide, an Arrogant Bastard (though none of these are extremely rare- they are for the area) is really nice. There are always at least 2 beers on tap worth drinking that make it worth the time to go there.

Probably my place of cholce to grab a beer- not because it is awesome but because it is the best of bad alternatives

Good selection of beers on draft - we had Kane's Head High, Carton's Boat Beer and Victory's HopDevil.
The atmosphere is very generic sports bar-like - open floor plan, well lighted, booths with individual tv sets and numerous flat screens sounding the inside of the bar.
Food selection is what one would expect from a sports bar - burgers, wings, potato skins, mozz sticks, pizza, pasta and some sandwiches.
4 of us ate there last night. We ordered wings and the combo platter, which included mozz sticks, potato skins, chicken tenders and french fries as well as an order of wing. Wings were good, and the combo platter was descent.
For main courses we had two burgers, which were decent but nothing to write home about. We also had two orders of potato soup, which according to my wife and sister-in-law, was inedible. I tasted it and had to agree with them.
The staff seemed very busy and the waitress didn't stop running around the entire time we were there. However, we ordered a grilled cheese for our little guy and it was forgotten about. We could see inside the kitchen from where we were sitting and we saw the grilled cheese sitting there waiting to be picked up. The bartender saw it sitting there on three different occasions and didn't bother to grab it for the waitress.
I don't think we will be going to The Spot again. The beer selection was good, but the food was horrible.

Always kind of dark but plenty of big screen tvs, even personal ones in booths. The food is standard pub fare with a little less grease and some unique personal pizza but can get a little pricey. They have about 6-8 taps dedicated to craft brews which get switched out when a keg is kicked. The beer always tastes extremely fresh and I'm pretty sure they take good care of their lines with constant cleaning. Bottle selection is okay with about 15 craft bottles at a time. Most craft beers are between 5 and 8 dollars (Victory hop devil draft 5 bucks - Great Divide Yeti draft 7 bucks) but they do specials kind of often knocking the price down a dollar. The best part is the beer paddle where you get 4 5 oz servings of whatever beer you like. Another good part is you dont have to order a pint if you dont want to. You can order a 5 oz taster or a 9 oz glass.

The staff doesn't really know too much about the beers (they know enough I guess) but they appreciate that you're drinking the craft stuff rather than the 2 dollar BMC stuff.

Cheers
