Pours to a frothy buff head that laces and persists. Color is a solid, hazy amber, Aroma is fresh pale malt, crystal malt and a bit of floral hops and candy sweetness. Flavor is malt forward with a nice floral hop middle and soft bitterness at the end to balance the malt sweetness. Mouthfeel is comfortably light-medium. Overall, a very accessible, drinkable and balanced malt-oriented brew that satisfies those who appreciate hops but need a bit of a break.

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/5 inch head of a white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of earthy malt, sweet malt, slight hop, hint of earthy malt, and hint of pale malt. Fits the style of an American Amber / Red Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp, with a low carbonation level. Tastes of earthy malt, sweet malt, slight hops, slight caramel malt, and a hint of pale malt. Overall, weak appearance and body, but decent aroma and good feel.

Pours caramel with a finger with cream colored head. Average head retention & good lacing

S: Some toasty notes, faint grapefruit

T: Toastyness, faint woody hops, some pine & dryness, faint orange peel up front. Grapefruit & orange peel, plus pine as this warms, some caramel , toffee & breadyness as this warms. A little hazelnut sneeks in with that. Finishes piney, with caramel, & woody hops & just a bit of orange peel, plus grapefruit

MF: Medium bodied, firm carbonation, & fairly nice balance

A nice Amber I will buy again

16 oz can pours a pretty hazy copper color with a decent cap of tan head. Retention is average and not much for lace.

Nose is cotton candy, toffee and nutty. Smells pretty decent and not as boring as many an amber can tend to be. Has a fruity presence that is interesting, but not quite sure intentional.

Taste has a nice amount of walnut and toast with a touch of caramel. A nice amber with a fuller than average mouthfeel. It has a really nice interplay of drinkability and complexity. I could drink a few of these, I like it...one of the surprise beers on my recent trip to NW AR.

Had on tap at Blackthorn Ouzza and Pub in Joplin, MO

Poured a lovely amber (go figure) with a decent head that faded quickly.

Smell is nice at first. Good caramel notes, and a bit of hippiness. Then the evil shows up... diacetyl. Once I get a whiff of it I can't get past it. I smell butterscotch.

Unfortunately the taste confirms it. Don't get me wrong. It's really subtle. It almost adds to the beer, disguising itself as a toffee flavor from kettle caramelization. But no, it's there. Other flavored are dead on, with caramel, good hoppy favors that play a secondary role, etc. sadly, it's butterscotch I notice first and foremost.

Mouthfeel is good. Medium, but not oily.

Overall this is a really good beer waiting to happen. Good caramel flavors balanced with the right amount of bitterness. Control the discreetly, and this one rates a four+, easily.

A - Poured out a clear, orange color with ruby highlights. It had a fairly long-lasting, off-white head of bubbly foam that left some nice lacing.

S - Aroma is fruity and malty with a dose of caramel sweetness. Mild floral notes.

T - Fruity and malty with caramel, toffee and bread crust. Bitterness is mild with a grassy bite.

M - It was crisp and sharp. A medium bodied ale with a refreshing dry finish.

O - This is a solid amber ale. Could be great for a session on a camping trip.

A pretty good looking Amber, definitely red (with orange notes) and mostly clear, a pretty good head and nice sheets of lace.

Smell is plenty malty, fruity, earthy with some hop notes.

Taste is pungently malty, lots of fruity notes and some floral flavors, with a good hoppiness.

Body is slick and sweet, heavier than I expected for an Amber but still quite drinkable.

This is a pretty darn good beer. Even though Amber ales aren't my favorite style, I could easily buy this one again. I love that it's in cans and being made by a small brewery. I definitely want to try more of their beers.
