Coming in a 330ml brown bottle, bottle-conditioned; BB 24/06/2014, served lightly-chilled. Notes: back label says this beer is brewed with 3 Grains (oat, wheat & barley malt) & 3 Hops (Columbus, Chinook & Centennial).
A: dark reddish amber in colour, coming with a negligible fluffy head & low level of carbonation.
S: plentiful amber & lightly caramely malts, sweet citrus & dried-flowery hops present upfront, with stinky leather & peary esters lagging behind, added with an extra touch of dried sweet Chinese herbs while giving a closer sniff.
T: nice & softly carbonated, the taste comes pretty yeasty, chewy & candy-ish/amber malty, leaving the earthy & citrus hops to chase hard at the back. Where the malts & hops interact, however, the lightly bitter impact marries well with the sweet herbal malts & yeasts, leading towards a sufficiently dry & chewy aftertaste in the end, which is constantly followed by a subtle fruity acidity.
M&O: softly carbonated, medium-bodied & well-attenuated overall, this beer is well conditioned in the bottle but somehow the balance is difficult to notice.
