Pours borderline black with a small beige head, quick to a thin film of foam on top.
Awesome roasted malts on the nose, really rich, bit salty, nutty, with chocolate and some roasted coffee bean, a bit of burnt sugar, light woody notes. But an incredibly fragrant roast, wow!
That's present in the taste, too, a rich deep roast, with a pinch of salt, almost like a bit of sea water in there, with some clear dark chocolate, faint toffees and burnt sugar. Some faint red apple. A nice coffee bean character, roasted, dusty, with a bit of black coffee acidity towards the finish. Finishes with the roasted dark malts, but they don't get ashy.
Not even in the aftertaste. Toasted dark bread, some baking chocolate, some coffee powder. Hint of dried dark fruit showing up. Medium body, medium carbonation, would've liked it smoother.
A great porter, another great example of deep roasted malty beers from the Northern countries. This is becoming a habit. A good one.

Deep, impenetrable brown color. Mild tan foam which disspersed rapidly. Light chocolate scent. Tastes of chocolate and coffee. Sweet and a little syrupy (at least in mouthfeel) but with enough bitterness to even it out. Overall it's pretty tasty if you're in the mood for something intense and thick.

Pours a deep dark brown with a nice layer of khaki colored head. Chocolate, whiskey, oak, and some cream notes come through on the nose; follows onto the palate. Nice mouthfeel, rich, hearty. Finishes with whiskey and some chocolate notes. Good example of the style.

I enjoyed this bottle chilled in a stout glass.

The color is dark brown with opaque clarity and two fingers of tan head with fine bead and lace sticks with good retention. The smell is very good with strong toasted grain in the aroma and light yeast smell which has a mineral aspect and light dried fruit ester with subtle caramel odor from the malt. The feel is excellent with medium body and moderately low carbonation with roasted grain texture and mild sweetness with subtle spice quality with smooth feel toward the finish which is semi-dry with mild alcohol influence.

The taste is great with malt presence that hints at dark chocolate with a coffee-like roastiness and mild toffee sweetness and dark dried fruit flavors with a mild spice element in the background. The taste has a slight char in the malt with gentle raisin-like flavor and slightly herbal hop quality which is complimentary. Overall I really enjoyed this beer more than I expected to be honest. The porter is very good and enjoyable in every way -very pleasurable to drink with nice balance. The coffee is mellow and the abv level is within range to enjoy multiples.

L - Pitch black and no light coming through the sides. About 1 cm of head develops that diminishes slowly. Quite a bit of lacing develops. Looks like a very inviting porter.

S - Smells like a good porter. Considering it contains roasted coffee, the coffee notes are more subtle than pronounced. Roasted malt notes come through.

T - Roasty, toasty, chocolaty, coffee goodness here. Very sweet. Not very hoppy. Very well rounded flavors. Not overly complex, but also not monotonous. There is a bit of coffee bitterness on the aftertaste, though pleasantly so.

F - The mouthfeel on this one is incredibly pleasant. Extremely smooth. Just enough of that frothy goodness to leave a yummy beer coating on the palate.

O - If you are looking for a new porter to try, this is an excellent choice. The drinkability of this beer is great. I personally am NOT a fan of coffee beers, but the brewers of this beer smartly chose to have the coffee notes be subtle in a very good way. So many coffee/espresso beers out there are totally overwhelming in terms of coffee flavor. These guys executed this one just right.

Very good. I wish it had more coffee flavors.
