Chocolate black with oxblood highlights and a lumpy tan head. 4
Acidic malts, a whack of phenolic meaty smoke, and brown soda toast. 4
Prune, fruit brack, some smoke, a hit of cola, more bacon and a bit of branch hops. 4
Dark roast coffee end and drying linger.
Light-med, lively, crisp. 4

I wish the label said if there was smoked malt - it sure tastes like it. That plus traditional porter notes plus the judicious coffee gives this a lot to chew over. For all the flavour, a light enough body and incredibly clean finish - very much like a porter. Exceeds expectations. 4.25

A bit too hoppy for the style, I think. It bills itself as "easy to drink", so shouldn't expect a robust roasted malt flavor.

Porters are my drink of choice and after having the first taste of this it became my choice porter. By the last sip it still was my choice porter.

330 ml bottle into a tulip.

Pours pitch black with just a thin wispy medium tan head. A touch of lacing around the sides of the glass but that's about it.

The one thing I noticed lacking in the aroma is the coffee advertised on the bottle. There is the slightest hint but I was really expecting it to jump out at me. More caramel and dark chocolate than anything.

The flavor is also quite light on the coffee but expands on the dark chocolate found in the aroma. There is also a certain nuttiness here that reminds me of chocolate covered almonds. Subtle sweetness and prickly carbonation leads to a slightly sticky finish.

Overall, a pretty average porter. My first beer from Iceland it really isn't bad. I would gladly have another one.

330ml bottle from Vinbudin in Reykjavik December 2014

I can't think of a better session porter that I've ever had.
It's both smooth and rich whilst not being sweet and the finish and nice and neutral.
Very chocolatey with hints of coffee and liquorice. I could drink this by the half dozen!
