12oz can
15-4 hand written on the bottom of the can. 2 years old?

Straw to orange colored, slight haze. Is that a pink hue or just my imagination? White head that recedes to a thin layer
Cherries prominent in the smell. Bordering on Robitussin, medicinal
Nice tartness, cherries not over powering but a medicinal taste that lingers. some yeastiness. A good palette cleanser. Dry honey at the end.
Bubbly, dry, refreshing. Good tingle.
I prefer the subtle spiciness and yeastiness of traditional Saisons. I think cherry is usually the wrong way to go with beer. Evokes cough syrup.

on draft at the brewery, in a tulip glass

clear golden in color, white head. nice fruity aroma of the cherry and mango. The cherry is more dominate in the flavor, along with a bit of the herbal yeast flavors. thinner bodied. overall one of the better saisons I've had.

Appearance: Arrives a hazy copper color with an inch of head that leaves a few strands behind

Smell: Funky apple and cherry tones; rather phenolic, Band Aid aspect

Taste: The Band Aid phenols come through much stronger on the palate, with apple and cherry tones underneath; fruity, through the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Afraid I am not a fan of the phenolic flavors here; I cannot find the mango anywhere in the profile

I love reviews, too! In fact, I make it a point to review EVERY CANned beer for inclusion in The CANQuest (tm)! I love approved pics to go with my reviews and will NOT Crack! open a CAN without an approved pic in place. I love that Round Guys is CANning so many of their beers. In other news, I love fellow redheads/gingers of the female variety. I love Pittsburgh sports, reading books & watching movies.

From the CAN: "A doorway and a key unlock this delicately layered beer - distinctly golden and crisp, a saison intimately intertwined with fresh mangos and tart sour cherries. Hops with a citrus flavor paired against a smooth malt base reflect a thinning body of brilliant complexities. I think we'll both agree, Round Guys sweet Cyrano, will make you smile. [sic] Sweet Cyrano, if only for a while."

I Crack!ed this bad boy open on Thanksgiving, but given its age, an inverted Glug was deemed inappropriate. I still got a good bit of foaming action off of a gentle pour. It created three-plus fingers of fluffy, tawny head that sat down rather quickly, leaving great lacing in its wake. Who is going to jackhammer it out later? I hate cleaning up after myself. Color was a beautiful Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with NE-quality clarity. Of course, the Gelt Gang of Midas, Mammon & Croesus stopped by for some and to give thanks for their greed. Nose held a light funkiness, not pungent, but enough to announce its presence. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium. The taste was piquant, slightly tart, with a light kirsch flavor on the tongue. Finish was dry, but not puckering. I am not generally a fan of Saisons, but this was tasty.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. And yes, that can did come courtesy of the founding father of the canquest, woodychandler. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of lemons, light malts. Taste is fruity. Mango, peach, some hops, refreshing. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is an enjoyable beer.

A - Crisp golden colored body with a quick fading has on top.

S - Tart, juicy tropical fruits, aromatic hops, hint of alcohol.

T - Juicy fruits in the flavors, some hop bitterness, a hint of peppery notes.

M - Pretty drinkable with a semi-dry finish.

O - Definitely one of the more interesting saisons I've had. Enjoyed the fruity notes in this.
