12 oz can poured into a nonic. Given out at the 2013 National Homebrewers Conference.
Pours a hazy straw yellow color with foam that overfills the glass before I've poured half of the beer in. This is a 20 ounce glass. I've heard that these cans have been exploding on people, and I can see why. Aroma is kind of grainy with some mineral hoppiness as well.
First sip is bone dry, with a minerally flavor. Almost no residual sweetness. Clearly over carbonated. This must have continued fermenting in the can. For as much as I can tell, the underlying beer seems very clean and crisp, but the harsh aftertaste and fizzy mouthfeel is a big detractor.
Would have loved to have tried this as the brewer intended.

12 oz. can distributed as one of four commerative beers for the NHC2013 meeting in Philadelphia, PA, unclear bottling date, poured into my Victory pilsner tasting glass, drank 6/30/13 over thirty minutes.
A: 3.00 - straw golden-yellow coloration, very murky (can both see or read through and inappropriate for style), overwhelming foamy white head requires sequential pouring, eventually dissipates into one finger, little alcohol legs
S: 3.00 - picking up a strange admixture of Cluster hop spicy/floral, clean lager yeast and slight tartness; again, the latter is inappropriate for style but smells good to me - more like a berlinerweisse than a pilsner for sure
T: 3.50 - on the anterior tongue, there is moderate bitterness for style which is probably the result of a heavy-handed addition of bittering Cluster hops; in the middle of the tongue, the lager yeast flavors kick in but eventually there is a tartness that, to me, is pleasant enough but not appropriate for style
M: 2.50 - moderate body, slight hop oils coating the tongue, 5.00% is hidden by the hops; overwhelming (and inappropriate amount of) carbonation for style (and just generally), mild alcohol legs
O: 3.00 - based on the above, it probably becomes clear to the astute reader that, I think, this is an infected beer - so much so that the cans were deforming and exploding for some shortly after pick-up; thankfully, mine did not explode but both cans (for my wife and me) were significantly deformed on opening due to overcarbonation; based on the flavors that I'm picking up, I'd say that lactobacillus and/or pedobacillus are the likely culprits; anyway, this beer was free so I don't want to be too harsh; albeit it's an infected pilsner, I closed my eyes and pretended that it was something closer to a berlinerweisse or another mildly tart, low ABV sour style and then enjoyed it much more
