A: The beer is hazy light pale yellow in color and has a moderate to high amount of visible carbonation, somewhat resembling a Berliner weissbier. It poured with a three finger high white head that rapidly dissipated and made lots of noise as the fizz died down, leaving only a collar around the edge of the glass and some wispy patterns of bubbles on the surface.
S: Light to moderate aromas of funk are present in the nose along with notes of juniper berries and vinegar along with hints of grapefruit. The smell becomes stronger as the beer warms up.
T: The taste mostly follows the smell, except that the grapefruit flavors are a tad stronger and linger through the finish.
M: It feels light-bodied and a little tart on the palate and is very fizzy with a moderate to high amount of carbonation.
O: I found this beer to be quite enjoyable as it tasted like a fizzy version of a gueuze with notes of grapefruit and juniper berries. The high amount of carbonation would make this go down very easily on a hot summer day.

Appearance - Poured into a flute glass, the beer was straw yellow color with a highly carbonated white head.

Smell - The beer had a generally lemony aroma. The twang on the lemon suggested the beer to be sour in nature.

Taste - The initial impression was a bubbly lemon sour, but this is accompanied by grassy hops that lay a foundation for the sour. The carbonation brushes the pleasant notes away too quickly.

Mouthfeel - In a word, the carbonation is aggressive. Unity Vibration tends to make beers that erupt when I open them.

Overall - The beer is pleasantly sour with a nicely carbonated mouthfeel. So far, this may be my favorite from unity vibration.

500 ml bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. Upon further inspection, a sticker on the bottle reads 050214, which I'm assuming is a best by date. My fourth (and final) beer from Unity Vibration. A double hopped kombucha pale ale with juniper. Even after drinking the other three, I still have no idea what to expect here.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter glass.

A - It wasn't the gusher I feared it might be, but it did pour about four to five fingers of gigantic fizzling white spritz, audibly sizzling away into nothing. Body is a pale yellow-straw-white color. Looks about like the others, with maybe a bit more carbonation. Second pour yields a much darker caramel orange color with a few specks of dark sediment at the bottom.

S - Smell resembles the others also, only with an actual hint of pine hops, and juniper / spruce. Otherwise, a mostly vinegar / bacterial kombucha culture smell dominates the nose.

T - This is much better than I was expecting. No nail polish remover alcohol dominance with this one. Some lemon, grapefruit, crisp carbonation, some spruce / pine hop presence noticeable, and an authentic bacterial kombucha presence on the finish.

M - Feel is crisp and lively, with carbonation tingling the tongue.

Overall, I am really enjoying this one, especially after being disappointed by several of the others. Of the four kombucha beers made by Unity Vibration so far, this is by far the most drinkable, and the most likely contender for repeat drinking. Highish 7.00% abv isn't noticeable at all. A wonderful pairing for kombucha and beer lovers alike.

On tap at Gene McCarthys in Buffalo NY, poured into my personal mug.

A. Hazy yellow/orange. Forms a nice head that dissipates quickly.

S: The smell is funky and sour. Lemony and pineapple but no hop aroma.

T: Tart Lemons and pineapple with a good bite of funk. A little bit of sweetness. No hop presence to speak of.

M: Light Carbonation, A little sticky with the sweetness fighting with the tart and funk.

I am not familiar with Kombucha so I can't say how this compares. This beer reminds me of a sparkling rose. It is tart and funky but there is no hop flavor at all.

Less an IPA than a hopped - and junipered - ale-style kombucha. Completely absent is the tart vinegar notes typical of kombuchas, replaced by a pleasant ring of very grassy hops and a slight medicinal quality from the juniper. Pours a very cloudy yellow, zero head to speak of, and entirely effervescent - the champagne bubbles dance on your palate with each sip like liquid Pop Rocks. A different journey than expected, but if you're partial to kombucha, looking to try something different - or are GF and looking for a hoppy brew analog - this is a wonderful place to start.
