Sampling cellar temp 22 oz bottle poured into my snifter. The beer pours a dark chocolate brown with a creamy dense tan head of 3 cm foaming up. The aroma is chocolate malt and some light raspberry notes. I also get a little brown sugar and some sweet lactose giving almost a chocolate milk character. I dont get any hops and the booze is pretty well hidden here.
The first sip reveals a silky smooth textured beer with very fine and spacious carbonation. Physical traits make this an easy drinking beer.
Flavor is some sweet chocolate malt and lactose sugar with a bit of roasted note. The raspberry comes through at little after each swallow, but it is muted to more of a general tartness than any berry notes. Again the hops are buried and I dont get any booze either, which is impressive for a 9.5%. This is an enjoyable imperial stout, that I am glad to have tried, Im not blown away by it and wish the complexity was a little more to it. I like it but wouldnt chase it down.

Dark black in color and no light will permeate this beer. There's a fingernail of beige around the rim and most of the top. I smell primarily tart raspberries, but sweet lactose is also detectable. The taste is a nice interplay of tart raspberries, sweet lactose, dark malt, and sweet bourbon. The raspberries are definitely the dominant character. The mouth is silky, creamy, and smooth.
