Every time I think 4 Hands can't outdo itself they somehow discover a way to do just that. Another amazing beer from an amazing brewery. One of the cleanest and most balanced APA's I've ever tasted. Right up there with Zombie Dust in terms of best APA's out there. Prost!

Deep golden color with excellent clarity. Light Brussels lacing. A good quarter inch of rocky off white head sits on top. I get a nice piney hop aroma that is held in check by light malt. I get piney hop flavor that is in the forefront. Light, sourdough bready malt kicks in at the back of the palate. The mouth is moderately carbonated and dry.

Poured from the bottle a clear deep copper color with a very thin off-white cap. No lacing left behind.

Bright aroma of tropical fruits and tangerine.

The topical fruit and tangerine notes from the aroma are present in the taste along with a light hit of grass and malts. Finished clean.

Light-to-medium bodied and crisp with a moderate carbonation.

A really nice sessionable beer for the summer months. Good flavor and clean.

Reviewing from notes after consuming on 8/6/15. Enjoyed out of a 22 oz brown bomber with a bottling date of 7/2/14. Poured into a standard 16 oz pint glass.

Appearance (4.0) - Pours a translucent coppery orange hue with zero haze, leading me to believe that this one has to be filtered. Atop the body sits a finger and a half of fluffy cream-colored foam that sticks around for quite awhile before settling as a ringlet around the edgest, leaving sticky lace residue intermittently around the sides of the glass and faint rings as I drink it down.

Smell (4.25) - A really wonderful blend of stone fruit bringing to mind nectarine and faint peach are the initial aromas, but they are complemented by a slight pungency that brings to mind notes of grapefruit pith and citrus zest. The grain element is barely present--just enough to give the explosion of fruit notes a little bit of complement.

Taste (4.25) - Not quite as overpowering with notes of nectarine and citrus, but now there is a subtle note of white grape and pear that I didn't pick up on the aroma. It finishes with the same grapefruit pith that was present in the aroma, but now I do get a sense of the grain base, with a subtle light malty sweetness reminiscent of club crackers.

Mouthfeel (4.25) - Light bodied and moderately carbonated, with just a touch of lingering bitterness on the tongue.

Overall (4.25), a really refreshing and drinkable pale ale. Perfect for summer, but seems like it's versatile enough to be a year-round regular as well. I like a lot of stuff that 4 Hands does, but this is definitely up there, and is maybe my favorite out of their lighter, non-sour beers.

Lighter shade of copper in color. Clear. Forms a minimal creamy white head. Little retention and only some light lacing. Aroma is bright and lively. Lots of bright fresh citrus with notes of orange, grapefruit and citrus zest. Taste falls off a bit. It's a light flavor, but its slightly tart - not sour - more punchy with heavier carbonation. Taste is still mostly citrus with some grassy hops in the mix. Lighter bodied. Mild bitterness. Not a bad brew, just not a great one.
