A- Pours a hazy amber-golden color. Fairly large head forms and retains very well. Lacing is also pretty good on this dense, frothy head. Sort of glows when any light is behind it because of the color and haze.
S- Sweet potatoes, vanilla, and other sweet Thanksgiving scents hit the nose first. Spice and cinnamon are next up and intermingle with the sweet vegetable and vanilla smells. Basically, it smells like a kitchen on Thanksgiving.
T- Nutmeg is the dominant flavor right off the bat before moving into the sweet potato flavor. The sweet potato flavor in a beer is interesting and somewhat dry. The vanilla mixes in with the rest of the flavors before moving back to a more bitter version of the sweet potato with maybe a hint of the pecan wood in there too. Lingering nutmeg finishes the drink.
M- Kind of nondescript here. Medium weight and carbonation. Not overly smooth, but not hard to drink either.
Overall, this is a beer that you like if you like the pumpkin/fall beer styles, and if you don't, you probably don't like it. It's not too bad for me; somewhere in between a pumpkin beer and an octoberfest.
