Notes/Commercial Description:
Morning Glory is brewed with fresh sweet potatoes, all spice, nutmeg, whole vanilla beans, and aged on Pecan Wood. A perfect compliment to the change of seasons. Morning glory pours a deep amber with aromas of fall spices, vanilla, and roasted sweet potatoes.

Up from Jacksonville FL and stopped in at the brewery.

A: single finger head with excellent lacing on a hazy orange and amber body.

S: brown sugar, pumpkin, hint of cinnamon and nutmeg.

T: sweet caramel, brown sugar, spices, and even some candy sugar with a surprisingly bitter finish which comes very late.

M: this one is a thin with light to moderate carbonation.

Overall: clean but a bit watery. I like the idea of doing something different from a pumpkin beer for a seasonal.

yet another winner from 4 hands, this one pours pale orangey in color, glowing coppery, with a finger one white head. the nose is pretty sweet from the yams or sweet potatoes, and there is a lot of allspice in here, maybe some cinnamon too. the flavor comes together well in terms of vegetable and spice, i dont think its overdone, but the spice is very strong, almost peppery at a point, and vanilla sweet in the finish. the yeast also ties the elements together in a desserty but not gimmicky little package. this is a little less subtle than the autumn maple from the bruery, but the vegetable part is equally as fun. it works well. id like to try a barrel aged version of this next year! feel is nice, a little too sweet for me, but the body is expansive in the mouth, and the carbonation is very bright. overall i appreciate the creativity, i might back off the allspice just a hair, but this is a very enjoyable thanksgiving time brew.

On tap at Broadway Brewery, Columbia, MO.

A - Poured a clear, copper color with a one-finger, khaki-colored head of bubbly foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass.

S - It smelled of allspice and nutmeg. Could smell the sweet potatoes, too.

T - It tasted of spices with nutmeg and allspice. The sweet potatoes actually tasted a little like pumpkin.

M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A medium bodied ale with a dry, clean finish.

O - This is another really tasty 4 Hands beer.

Poured into the tulip from a 22oz bottle.

Pours a nice dark copper color with some slight haze. There is a nice half inch head that is off-white. It is of medium density and there are some chunkier bubbles sprinkled around.

Aroma of christmas. :) Starts off with gingerbread notes and some nutmeg. There is definitely some nice sweetness in the nose. Some vanilla is present. There is also some herbal notes in the nose. Quite interesting.

Taste starts off with the nutmeg and sweet potato notes. Then some metallic notes come up as well as some grassy and herbal hop notes. Quite a bitter middle. Mouthfeel is a bit light. Not that good to me. I can't get over the metallic notes. Mouthfeel is a bit thin for the style and flavor profile.

Overall. Probably the first disappointment from 4 Hands IMO. It is a good attempt but personally there is some metallic notes and I cant seem to appreciate the mix of the spice sweetness with the herbal hop notes.
