Served by a brewery rep. at the NC Brewers Fest.
A; Pours a yellow-amber with a light frothy head.
S: Earthy, dank and bready -- not a typical description of a fine IPA.
T: Better than suggested by the aroma: Citrusy and herbal hops; Earthy and bitter finish.
M: Near medium body; good carbonation; slightly dry finish.
O: a decent choice for hopheads.
Serving type: on-tap

Growler 1 hour fresh from the brewery poured into imperial pint glass.
A: beer pours a golden yellow color with minimal head after an aggressive pour. Very, very light lacing on the glass. Not bad looking, but looks a little slick and less carbonated than I would hope.
S: slight citrus hop smell backed by a decent amount of ready malt. The hop aroma is nice and fresh (think lemon and orange zest) but it is slightly overwhelmed by the amount of doughiness coming through.
T: very similar to the smell in that there is a little bit of very delicious hop flavor that is again slightly overwhelmed by the amount of bready malt present. There's just not quite enough hop here for me to think IPA. Closer to a pale ale in my opinion, but not a bad beer by any means.
M: a little slick and under carbonated on the tongue. Goes through the mouth very smoothly but i would like a little more action. Makes it easy to go down, but I don't mind a fuller mouthfeel if it was there.
O: a very nice beer and very easy to drink. Had no trouble finishing the growler but would love to see a little more hop in both the aroma and the taste.
Serving type: growler
