On tap at Growlers Pour House in Charlotte.
Pours clear red-amber with a full, creamy and durable bone-colored head that leaves fine lacing patterns.
Smells rather ordinary, with no sign of the jalapenos. You will definitely taste the hot peppers in this beer, although Birdsong used enough restraint that I would not call this challenging to drink. There is some mild heat in the mouth which, I think, is why the ABV seems higher than 5.5%. Given the chilies, this pale ale would probably benefit from more hops so that they aren't so completely masked.

O: A chili beer with little else going one, but that’s not always a bad thing. Worked well with a sandwich and fries. (678 characters)

Just wondering who decided to declare "This beer is retired; no longer brewed."
I just got a growler fill today. (120 characters)

Poured from 16 oz can into tulip. Didn't see a visible bottle date.

A: Pours bright orange with two finger head with decent retention and leaving ample lacing.

S: Aroma is dominated by light chilie heat with maybe a hint of grassy hops.

T: Again, mostly light jalapeño heat with some subtle cracker malts and faint hops.

M: Medium body and average carbonation. Finish has just a hint of pepper spice but is well controlled.

O: Enjoyable beer. My first one from Birdsong, and it was a good one. (508 characters)
