On tap at Growlers Pour House in Charlotte.
Pours clear red-amber with a full, creamy and durable bone-colored head that leaves fine lacing patterns.
Smells rather ordinary, with no sign of the jalapenos. You will definitely taste the hot peppers in this beer, although Birdsong used enough restraint that I would not call this challenging to drink. There is some mild heat in the mouth which, I think, is why the ABV seems higher than 5.5%. Given the chilies, this pale ale would probably benefit from more hops so that they aren't so completely masked.

O: A chili beer with little else going one, but that’s not always a bad thing. Worked well with a sandwich and fries. (678 characters)

Just wondering who decided to declare "This beer is retired; no longer brewed."
I just got a growler fill today. (120 characters)

I absolutely love this stuff. Everytime I go out and its on the menu, I gotta have it at least once. The nose is pure jalapeño. The taste is malty, hoppy and a great jalapeño background. Only downside is I wish it had just a touch of heat, but no matter, this is great. Second best beer brewed in Charlotte, other than HDnR (330 characters)
