Notes/Commercial Description:
There is no other beer like Timmermans Tradition Lambicus Blanche anywhere in the world. It is made by bringing together lambic with the process used for brewing beers based on malted wheat. By the addition of spices such as coriander and dried orange zest, a beer is created with a light, fruity flavour, deliberately cloudy and subtly spicy. Should ideally be drunk from an authentic stoneware pot.

2/06/13 On tap at Rattle n Hum, NYC. Reminiscent of a shandy made with a lite beer. Almost no bitterness, which a bitter/IPA would lay down in a typical shandy, but not overly sweet due to the tartness. Hard to put finger on, but no desire to swat away. Worth a try & probably a great summer backyard quaff. At 4.5% ABV this is worth another look at another time & another place.

Served at La Becasse

A slight haze is present in the golden bodied beer. Somewhat hard pour brings a small white head to the top.

Big wheat character with spice and citrus and apple. Slightest touch of tartness.
Fairly light and smooth on the tongue.

It was hot while I was in Brussels so a beer like this and the Doux worked really well.

A wonderful beer that I enjoyed in the sunshine - could drink a lot of this.

aroma: honey and light citrus fruit with slight funk

taste: lemon/lime/sherbet with honey, spice and peach skin. Has a nice and pleasant sourness/tartness with funk.

Well balanced and delicious!

Pours a deep gold color, initially mostly clear with a white, wispy head. Aroma of cracked wheat, hay, coriander like spice, lemon and a bit of sour lambic yeast.
In the taste, mild tartness, a lemony note from the yeast and wheat, and a light spice and bitterness. Light to medium bodied ale with a semi dry finish. I would think that many early Belgian style sours employed Wheat in their beer, it certainly works very well here. Overall this is a refreshing lambic/sour wit, done right by Timmermans. Very good.
