Poured from a 750 into a wine glass. Pretty nice for just over $10. Much nicer than their Tradition Gueze. Pouirs a nice golden tan with a thin white head. Nose has a mix of sour yeast and funks. Palate is well balanced, but also has a good amount of tartness. Crisp, clean body drinks well.

The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is full of wheat with some tart lemons, Belgian yeast and some light funk. A very nice smelling gueuze. The flavor is very tart and acidic. I get a lot of sour lemons notes, as well as some horseblanket funk, wheat and Belgian yeast. There is also a little bit of white pepper mixed into the flavor. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice gueuze. Glad to have this one available here in Texas.

(Served in a tulip glass)
Bottled 17/04/12

A- This beer pours a clear golden yellow with a stream of quick tiny bubbles pluming to the surface. The sound of the fizzing snow white head quits as the foam fades to a thin broken film.

S- The great earthy smell of dampness has some bright tartness with some soft hay notes in the finish. Some white cheese character from Brett comes through as it opens along with a dried oak boards note and some wet fresh plaster aromas.

T- The gentle tartness has some slight fruity hints that turn more into pineapple character as it opens. There is an acid note that is mostly lactic but not harsh and grows stronger and brighter as the beer opens but stays mellow with some rhubarb character to it. The bright tartness lingers for a moment after each sip.

M- The full fizz bites the tip of the tongue but there is no astringency or alcohol heat noticed.

O- This is a light bright well blended gueuze that leans a bit more toward the young lambic but in a good way. Lots of soft layers that is very drinkable and sessionable aswell. Worth the price of $16 dollars.

Has a pale gold pour, cloudy with a fizzy cap.

Fresh citrus aromas, acetic with a mix of spring meadow, autumn hay and some leather. Who am I kidding-smells like a fuming old paint can with lemons mixed in but I'm digging it.

Upfront smack of huge lemon-lime puckering power. Nice sweet balance and a Brett spiciness.

Very refreshing with some dryness to it. Prickly carbonation smattering the tongue.

Well rounded gueuze for me. No problem finishing off the bottle.

Review from notes.

A: Pours a slightly hazy peach color with a smallish white head on top. Decent retention with a little bit of lacing on the sides.

S: On the musty/funk side with less of a tart/sour aroma. Some straw and barnyard aromas with a bit of lemon and oak.

T: A flip from the aroma with a more sourness. Lemon rind, faint green apple, and some vinegar. Still some light funky/brett and barnyard flavor.

M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation, rather dry finish.

O: A pretty good gueuze, would seek it out again as well as the other Timmermans gueuzes.

750ml bottled 12.16.2010

(A) Yellow golden straw color with hints of orange and darker toward the edges. Slightly hazy with a decent white head.

(S) Straw and earthiness. Has a bit of funk to it. Some spices linger about. Oranges and other citrus. Lemon rind.

(T) Tart and very sour (may be due to the fact that this was after some oude bruins). Lemon zest and citric acid are pretty large.

(M) There's a heck of a bite to this one. It's pretty damn sour. Medium to full body.

(O) This was pretty fresh and VERY sour because it's so fresh. I'd like to see what a couple of years would do to this one.

bottled on 12/10

pours a slight golden and straw yellow, a bit pale. lots of effervescent head.

very oak and mineral forward. dry and tart with a hint of funk.

taste is rather weak, nice sourness and lemon flavor up front but very faint and subtle flavors through out. lacks any complexity. lemon flavor is pretty spot on though.

nice moderate carbonation really brings out the sourness.

overall, meh. not really impressed. i would not actively seek out more.

Appearance: Slightly cloudy straw-yellow with a generous frothy white head. Good looking beer.

Smell: Predominately barnyard funk, with maybe a slight hint of citrus.

Taste: A mixture of sweet and sour Citrus fruits (think oranges mixed with lemon and grapefruit). this results in a slightly sweet gueuze. The sourness is slanted more towards the tart side than the sour side. The semi-sweet Citrus notes are the backbone of the taste.

Mouth-feel: Light to medium bodied with a generous level of carbonation.

Overall: The taste profile is good but it's based on the Citrus notes and lacks the complexity of the very upper echelon. But the price is very good for a gueuze and while it has simple flavor profile it's a good tasting beer.

Shared with caSSino the night before Brewvival! Bottled 12/16/10! Served from bottle into into a Drie Fonteinen gueuze glass. Poured a hazy golden yellow with a two finger pure white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained decent lacing throughout the lacing. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, earth, funk, lemon, citrus, lemon rine, tart, and sour. The flavor was of sweet malt, funk, citrus, lemon rine, tart, sour, and earth. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a really nice brew. The aroma on this one was pretty inviting and really nice. The flavor was the standout on this brew as it was really nice and acidic as you would expect from the style. All the right flavors were present and made themselves known. A definite must try if you get the opportunity.
