A sweetened fruit lambic - I can't knock this too hard for being what it is unapologetically.
Gives a really nice pour into a flute glass. Slight off-red color, pinkish foam that even leaves a bit of lacing.
Aroma? Strawberry jam and Sweet-tarts candy.
Hmm. Almost reminds me more of the Sam Smith fruit beers than even a Lindemans sweetened lambic. It's all strawberry and Sweet-Tarts. Sweet, lacking much body. Decent little tart note that at least for me helps drinkability.
Basically a soda pop with a very low ABV. Amp up the "beer" qualities a bit, and this may score somewhat higher. Still, for a soda-pop, it's a pretty enjoyable soda-pop. I'm OK with stuff like this, because a) ladies who don't like beer often like this stuff and b) even I can't drink Saint Lamvinus everyday.

Bottle: a standard 330mL brown bottle with an old-school Belgian label. Purchased from Leura Cellars.
Appearance: pours a hazy amber-pinkish with a natural brown tinge. A fairly creamy one-finger head drops fairly quickly to a patchy cap, limited lacing.
Aroma: quite a sweet strawberry note - natural strawberries, not that awkward artificial smell. Some Belgian lambic yeasts and earth notes manage to balance the sweetness out.
Taste: follows the nose quite closely - a lovely natural strawberry with earth and Belgian wild yeasts. Very refreshing indeed.
Aftertaste: a lemon citrus tartness joins the strawberry on the finish. Very nice.
Mouth feel: a moderate body with light- to- medium carbonation.
Overall: quite a nice lambic - very natural strawberry fruits that aren't as overly sweet as some, being balanced with earth malts and lemon citrus tartness. The price being over AU$130 a case of 24 (2014) is a little prohibitive however.
