Nose sour tart dark malt, fruit with a hint of chocolate. The lemony tartness grows as it ages. Brilliant brown with very light red tint under a 2” finely bubbled bone white foam cap with a very light tan tint. Attacks the palate with a mouthful of fruit and some dark malt sugars with traces of chocolate balanced by a pleasant tartness with lemon notes. The tartness grows and the sweetness decreases as it ages. Medium body and medium high carbonation. A little tame.

Bourgogne des Flandres has a medium, cream-colored head, heavy lacing left on the glass, and an initially clear, cola-brown, bubbly appearance, which becomes quite murky, once the bottom sediment is loosened and poured in. The aroma is of sharp, aged malt, slightly turned fruit, chocolate, and sweet, gingerbread. Taste is of sweet & sour candy, sugar, turned fruit, medium-to-dark malt, acid, and brown bread crust. Some tart cherry, much like Dr. Pepper, is in evidence, too. Bitterness is low, and the mouthfeel is medium and cola-like, but without the high carbonation. Bourgogne des Flanders finishes semi-wet and decently drinkable.

An aroma reminiscent of children's cough syrup and a flavor dominated by strawberries.

A nice fruity beer with a hint of sour, but not enough to call it a sour. Red fruits lead the taste profile. I got raspberry and strawberry with slightly sour cherry on the finish.

As others have said not very sour. A nice drinking red with lots of cherry and some complexity. A fairly sweet taste with slightly sour finish. I liked it but did not love it.

Very easy drinking sour. Good tasting but not exactly representative of the style, but good none the less.

served in a goblet from the tap

medium brown in color, not really any head. mild sour aroma, a bit earthy and dark fruits. taste is fairly malty, with just a slightly sour vinegary finish. Not very sour, drinks easy and refreshing. Thin bodied.
