Can pour at the Ithaca Luminous release.
Pours an opaque dark brown, almost black, with very little head, and a tiny bit of lacing.
Smells like pure and rich coconut and chocolate.
Lots of toasted coconut in the flavor, some great chocolate, a little bit of caramel, slightly reminiscent of a samoa cookie from the girl scouts. Some vanilla too.
Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel, very drinkable.
Had no idea this existed, this was nice.

poured from a can into a HF snifter
appearance is perfect...quarter inch coffee colored head that recedes to the edges...dark as all hell
smell is pretty weird...didnt like it much and does not reflect the upcoming taste...think "rotten almonds"
taste is absurd...chocolate, nuts, slight coffee, and coconut that doesnt appear until the swallow...kind of a first for me in that the initial taste and the aftertaste are like 2 different beers...the extra dimension of this beer is pretty unique
mouthfeel is perfect....borderline stout consistency, even
overall i loved this beer...what a surprise...the only thing that stopped me from giving this a near perfect rating was the nose...not even that big of a deal with a taste like that, though....will definitely seek this out again in vermont and will definitely be seeking out more fiddlehead goodies
