Only two beers to try and nothing but growlers to take out. If I was them I would at least can some fiddlehead IPA so there is beer to go. I had no need for a growler as I was visiting from some distance. The beer is awesome.

In a relatively non descript, and not as scenic area of the state sits the Fiddlehead brewery. Off the main highway route 7, the turn off can be a little tricky depending on traffic.

Inside it's pretty non descript, but it is attached to a nearby pizza place as well. One of the great features about this is you can actually go to the brewery, buy a growler and actually consume it in the next door restaurant.

The qualities of the brews are very solid, but selection is limited to not many of which most are of course IPAs or hop forward styles. Decent as they are, the choices are a little slim. Staff however is very cordial and answers anything. If you are also lucky you may be able to get cans all depends how much in demand they are.

This is an incredible brewery. Went to a can release for Second Fiddle on 6/27/2015. Second Fiddle is one of the best beers I've ever had. They had a handful beers on tap, and let you sample any and all of them before buying. I do wish they had more of their beers on tap. The can release was very orderly too. The brewery is attached to a fantastic pizza place, in which you can take your cans and/or growlers there and have great food and chilled pint glasses for you to pour. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Would love to visit again. The one thing they should do is add a few more tap lines to their bar.

Really great brewery with killer IPA selections and great pizza next door. Dog friendly, super low-key and home to the 2nd FIddle which is oh so good! Really liked this spot and it's super close to Burlington, VT!

What can I say that hasn't already been stated... Monday, as a special, they fill growlers for $2 dollars less than usual. They are one of the few places that doesn't try to make money off of selling their empty glass growler. Oh, they usually only have 3-4 beers on tap. They are a fantastic brewery, and they do can releases of some rare fresh IPAs (Second Fiddle, Mastermind). Definitely worth the stop if you are in the Burlington to Middlebury area of Vermont.

Small taproom for growler fills and samples in Shelburne, VT. Service very friendly, efficient, and informative. Only 3 choices when I was there, none of which included the signature brews like Mastermind or Second Fiddle. Came away with two smaller growlers of IPA and witbier. There is a pizza place next door we did not try, but the combination seems solid. No lines when we were there mid-afternoon on a summer Wednesday and if you're a beer geek you learn to deal with long lines anyway. It's the price you pay.

a really cool place, one of the must stops every time i take the ferry over from new york. i think started by the old magic hat guy(s), its already turning out some real impressive stuff. its small and humble, and until recently you could only taste and take beer to go. the taproom is connected to a pizza joint though, where you can go wild on the beers. people are super nice, very vermont in its culture, and thats my favorite. the mastermind is epic double ipa, and the others they do are all immaculate as well. one of the better kolsch styles in the area, and the barrel aged frogs run sap beer is my favorite fermented beverage of all time. ive seen lines wrap around the building on release day, but its usually pretty tame in here. its incredible how deep they have penetrated the market and the share of mind in craft beer in the northeast in such a short period of time. they seem to excel at most styles, and have already expanded a little bit from what i understand. one thing is for certain, these guys are here to stay, and they are rivaling the more popular vermont hoppy stuff, mark my words. the only real letdown is that every time i am in, they have just one or two beers. i love seeing a huge variety to try, but i think demand is so high they just pull through too quickly to stack up. a good problem to have, but less awesome for the wayward consumer...

Fiddlehead makes good beer, there is no doubt about that. I also tend to enjoy their location. Having a good flatbread pizza place (Folino's) next door that allows patrons to come in and order pizza with Fiddlehead growlers in hand is cool with me. However, the location on route 7 just outside of Shelburne has really seen them increase the amount of traffic to and from their brewery in recent years. This is obviously a good thing, but there are some negatives. One being the limited space in their parking lot, another thing being the large lines on the weekends. I am all for popular beer but when you line up behind a bunch of people (tourists or not), it detracts from the overall experience.

The staff at the brewery is more than friendly and does their best to move the lines along quickly (which is much appreciated). I look forward to my next visit to Fiddlehead and hope they keep up the great work! Cheers!

Superb little brewery near the Shelburne Museum, There is a sleek little taproom that offers about one or two current brews. Of course, one can get growlers and swag to go. No food, but there is a pizzeria next door - actually they share the same building. In any case, the parking lot is always full. Check it out when you are in the Burlington area.
