Had this one on tap at the brewery in Colorado Springs early last week. Poured an amber color, with aromas of tangerine, mango, passion fruit. Medium bodied with big citrus flavors balanced nicely with a malty sweetness. No bitterness at all on the finish.

Dark gold color with a relatively thin, white head. Strong citrus and floral hop notes with an underlying subtle biscuit and caramel malt presence. Juicy, fruit and malt flavors; nice complementary hop bitterness. Medium-heavy body; semi-sweet finish.
Each sip seems to make this beer more and more enjoyable. Cantaloupe and musk melon dominant notes combine sublimely with soft and low-key biscuit flavors. The hop bitterness does an excellent job of tying everything together. One of Phantom Canyon's best bottled efforts to date.

Color was deep copper-red and clear with little visable carbonation. Head was thick and very long lasting. Strong citrus hop aroma with notice sugary tones. Taste similar to aroma, with hints of pine and strawberries. Very citrusy. Medium-oily mouth feel and bitter finish. Served in a 12 oz. snifter.

Glass: Pint glass
From: Phantom Canyon Brewing Company in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Purchased: Oct. 9, 2013
Consumed: Oct. 9, 2013
Misc.: Someone else bought the beer for me
Poured a reddish copper color with 1-to-2 fingers of khaki white head. Good lacing along the sides of the glass. Above average retention on the top all the way down.
Smelled grapefruit, citrus, floral hops, slight butter, pine and lime.
Tasted butter, lemon, earthy grass hops, floral hops, citrus hops and grapefruit.
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter finish.
This was a really good Double IPA. I’d certainly have it again.

A thick red color, kind of like a clear brick. orange/brown around the edges. About 1 1/2 fingers of head, but I have small hands. It faded fairly quickly.
Citrusy, right off the bat. It's pretty clear that this is a Citra DIPA. Not much malt aroma to speak of. This is all about hops and grapefruit.
Citra hops come through right away, and are amazing. They do eventually fade and you get a hint of malt sweetness mixing in with a bit of pine flavor. In the end, a very balanced bitterness that doesn't last very long.
Full-bodied. Somewhat oily and holds a medium-carbonation.
High. It's high in alcohol (the current batch is actually 9.5%) but the alcohol flavor doesn't invade too much. Since the bitterness tastes so appropriate and doesn't last, it would be a good intro for someone just trying IPAs or DIPAs. In a word: Delicious.
