Dark gold color with a relatively thin, white head. Strong citrus and floral hop notes with an underlying subtle biscuit and caramel malt presence. Juicy, fruit and malt flavors; nice complementary hop bitterness. Medium-heavy body; semi-sweet finish.
Each sip seems to make this beer more and more enjoyable. Cantaloupe and musk melon dominant notes combine sublimely with soft and low-key biscuit flavors. The hop bitterness does an excellent job of tying everything together. One of Phantom Canyon's best bottled efforts to date.

Type: Draft
Glass: Pint glass
From: Phantom Canyon Brewing Company in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Price: N/A
Purchased: Oct. 9, 2013
Consumed: Oct. 9, 2013
Misc.: Someone else bought the beer for me
Poured a reddish copper color with 1-to-2 fingers of khaki white head. Good lacing along the sides of the glass. Above average retention on the top all the way down.
Smelled grapefruit, citrus, floral hops, slight butter, pine and lime.
Tasted butter, lemon, earthy grass hops, floral hops, citrus hops and grapefruit.
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter finish.
This was a really good Double IPA. I’d certainly have it again.
