A very fine saison from a great brewery. If I have one qualm with this one, I'd say it is a bit too malty. I favor a more hopped up saison profile. I was able to grab a keg of this from a local distributor, so I'm having it on draft at home. I have had it in the brewery before, and it's definitely an easy drinker. Worth checking out if you come across it. Most likely you'd find it on draft at establishments in the greater Los Angeles area.

clean, refreshing saison. cloudy yellow, with notes of hay, cut grass, and hints of belgian yeasts. not overly carbonated, the beer has a medium mouthfeel with a balance between bready malts and hop bitterness. dry on the finish. not a particularly complex, but sessionable to be sure.

On-tap at Tustin

The pour is a cloudy golden color with a white head. Starts of with lots of citrus peel, especially orange and lemon peel. Some yeast, grass, and bread. Faint spice notes on the finish. The flavor is sweet up front with a hint of tart lemon on the finish. Lemon and orange peel, some hints of grass and straw, light yeast, and a little bit of sugar. Nice bready base to it which gives most of the sweetness.

On tap at Far Bar in Los Angeles, CA.

Pours a murky honey orange with a foamy off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, yeast, spice, and some slightly soapy aroma. Taste is much the same with some citrusy flavors as well. There is a mild spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is a pretty solid American take on the style in my opinion.

On tap at The Bottle Room.

Poured a very pale straw hue that wasn't completely clear. Topped by a small white head but it did leave some webbed lacing on the way down. Nice stream of carbonation.

Smell was of hay, some bready malt, with a nice spice note mixed in.

Taste was super dry. Grassy with a nice peppery taste that coated the mouth. It was extremely refreshing.

Crisp light mouthfeel that beckons you to take another drink. Very easy to drink. I probably could have put down about 2 more pints in this 80 degree LA January weather.
