Notes/Commercial Description:
This complex, straw-colored ale has clove and pear aromas. A marriage of spicy and fruity flavors help perfectly balance its elegant malt profile. Pair with rich foods like steaks, roasts, earthy cheeses, and cheese cake.

On tap at the Big Texas Beer Fest.

The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma has a lot of bread and white notes, with a little bit of yeast thrown in. The flavor is more of the same, with some wheat and grain coming through front and center. There is also a little bit of sweetness from the candy sugar, as well as a little bit of toasted character. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

a: light amber, small foamy head that resolves to a fine effervescence with residual off white foam at the edges
s: pleasant esters, strong alcohol, malty/molasses, caramel apple and hint of pasture, wet burlap
t: sweet malty forward, over ripe apple/pear, bubble gum with good hoppy offset to the sweet malts, hint of bret like funk without it being overpowering, and fairly clean finish
m: good effervescence and mouth feel, not syrupy despite its sweet, malty
o: A rather enjoyable beer, good mix of malt, hops and complex flavors, sweeter than the typical tripel, but I rather enjoyed it, and wouldn’t hesitate to buy it on future visits to Texas. I was in Texas on business, and I always enjoy sampling local beers when I travel. This Austin beer produces quite a variety of beers, that I look forward to sampling.

Poured into a goblet…
Batch: 003 Bottle: 1613
It’s a light burnt orange/amber color, relatively hazy and filled with mild carbonation. Its topped off with a thin white head that quickly dissipates and becomes one massive island that almost cover the top of the glass, and it’s all surrounded by a thins ring of lacing. The smell is rather light and lacking but sweet overall. I can pick up some light malts but not much else. Its light bodied and is a bit crisp when it first hits your tongue and has a medium-to-light mouth feel. Cloves and mild citrus fruit are present in the flavor, spices are plentiful. There is a slight alcohol presence in the aftertaste.

Poured from the bottle into a flared wine glass.

Pale apricot gold brass and yellow lemon. Very orb glowing quality with some thin carbonation in the middle. No head produced, what little was bone white and evaporated very quickly. Virtually no collar or anything left at all. Very nice body color though.

Great bouquet on this brew. Large bakery dough and sweet pastry notes. Hints of angel cake, deep grains and malt, with just a touch of sweetness. Minimal sensing hotness of alcohol but nothing large but slightly noticeable. VEry nice.

Palate is explosive. Large pear and juiced fruit notes, with large bread and thick undertones. Slightly hinting tropical mango in the sweetness character, good amounts of vanilla on this also with just a hint of booze. Classic matching bread dough from the nose, with cake like sweetness. Slightly creamy but with a dry effervescent mouthfeel pop with mild to moderate carbonation, and a bit of huoney malt density.

A very impressive state side tripel, full of lush palate flavors, and unique tastes to go with it.
