The amburana aged recipe was done backwards: instead of ageing a regular beer in barrels, we designed a beer especially for one of a kind amburana barrels. For this specialty beer we added candy sugar and used lager yeast. We applied a high toast to the wood used in the barrel's construction, which conceals the alcohol perception of the beer.

Look: It pours deep cooper with a bit of clouding. It has a tan head with very good head retention.
Smell: It has a fruity aroma up front with a malty background. There is a very low chocolate note in the background.
Taste: It has a malty taste with some low chocolate and caramel. It has spicy notes in support with noticeable alcohol.
Feel: It has a medium full body with a bitter aftertaste.
Overall, the balance in the flavors isn't working for me especially with the spicing.

apperently they used or made there own barrels out of exotic Ambuana wood and designed a beer to age in them. Cool idea.
Looks typical for a bock, smells strange, tastes exotic and feels different. overall one of Brazil's most unusual tasting beers. Lots of exotic and strange flavors and smells.

A copper red color in the glass with a tall 3 finger foamy head.
Aromas of succulent dark fruits, like grape and plum, some grain barley behind that.
The flavor is not bad at all, in fact much better than I was expecting. A slightly sour-spicy punch...with flavors of plum and cherry mixed with serano, with a pixie stix-like sugar, and caramel, dark breads, a touch of lime, and lightly toasted barley at the end.
Feel is just as a doppel should be, very rich and creamy, thick, almost chalky but not quite. Good carbonation level.
Overall a pretty decent doppel but not among the best I've had. I'd probably try it again.

Poured from 10.5-ounce bottle into seidel glass. Dark caramel colored body, light tan head that dissipates rather quickly leaving a thin film. Aromas of dark bread and caramel, quite understated. The taste is where this one really shines. Sweet, malty, and bready, with flavors of caramel, prunes, and a hint of smoke. Sweetness lingers on the palate, pleasant aftertaste, alcohol well hidden. Smooth, very easy drinking. A complex and delicious brew.

One of the best brazilian beers I've drank till now..
This is a lager beer aged in Amburana woods (same wood used to age brazilian cachaça).
Appearance is of a deep dark brown color and a nice, whitey, creamy foam (not too big or persistant, but delicious). It doesn't look a lager...
Ans it doesn't smell or taste like a lager too! Aroma is extraordinary.. full of dark chocolate, cachaça and Amburana woods.
Taste is similar, but not as delightfull. Roasted malts are the highlights here and you can feel a bit of the alcohol.
Mouthfeel is incredible, balances almost perfectly with the alcohol level. This is the lager beer with the greatest body I've drank.. carbonation is at good level too.

Dark brown reddish color with a thick beige three fingers head with good retention and leaving laces.
Light grainy and nutty malt aroma with notes of dark chocolate and maybe cassis.
Initially spicy flavor with light notes of wood, roasted coffee, cocoa powder, nuts, earthy and herbal hops and vanilla. Hints of dark fruits. Dry and bitter aftertaste with a lingering coffee and wood taste.
Medium body with appropriate carbonation. 8.4 % abv is superbly well hidden.
Amazingly easy to drink beer and very pleasant. It grows over the degustation; I had to keep changing the grade up. Definitely one of the best from Way.
