Rimming sandstone froth over palest amber 3.75
Very toasty hazelnuts, sherry, and carob nose - harsh. 3.5
Toffee apple up front, then smoky toast that fades into nothing. 3.5
Peanut end and tacky linger.
Watery, round, some stick. 3.5

-- Fruit dies under oxidized cardboard. Even allowing for that, still thin, especially at 5.8%. A poor effort at a simple style. 3.5

Beautiful Irish Red of a deep dark red color and almost perfect foam, fairily persistant.
Moderate mineral smell basically of malt, specially roasted ones and a bit of hop too.
The same thing for the taste, but with the hop more prominent and bitterest. The aftertaste is actually a bit sweet and really dry, asking for another swig.
Mouthfeel is creamy and enjoyable.

I must say Way beers are great! Loved this one!

Nice, dense and consistent head. Hazy red brownish color.
Aroma of fruity hops and a slight toasted malt and a hint of caramel. Good carbonation and light to medium body that gives it a good drinkability.
Flavor very well balanced between the bitterness of its hops and the sweetness of the mildly toasted malt that was used.
Finish is dry with a medium bitterness. Very pleasant beer, sorry to say that I have felt this one as one step up from Murphy’s Irish Red.

Coming from a tiny 310 ml bottle with a love it or hate it design, on to the beer:

The color of it is deep red, and its head is holding up well on top. The nose is very earthy, but not too earthy, and the balance is provided by sweet breads and dulce de leche.

With a good balance of flavors and good presentations of caramel, esters, and a kiss of piney hops, there's a good chance Way Irish Red will turn you on. Its medium and smooth body, gently lifted with a twinkle of carbonation, rounds out this quality beer.

I believe this is my first Brazilian produced Irish Red, and I must say that Way did a splendid job of this overlooked style. Along with Bodebrown, Way is leading the way towards pushing Curitiba as a destination for its beer.
