Single Hop Project #2 comes in the form of the Amarillo hop. Again, from a stubby 310 ml bottle, and again a great gift from srbcruti (valeu!). On to the beer:

A bronzed orange color with a half-inch of head on top. Its head features steady retention and dishes out lots of lace around the glass. Thenose, here we go, brings a strong honey graham cracker note. The hops are a little stronger than the Cascade version, which brings a mild lemon peel note, but still registers as merely adequeate.

The hops are more lively in the beer's taste. The hop and malt combo is workable, and while still plenty malty, has enough hoppiness to delight lingering hop cravings. Sweet honey and graham crackers are the main event, with the Amarillo hops coming to play later, which bring citrus and canteloupe. The beer is medium bodied with some crispness, and is a pleasure to drink.

The "middle child" of the Single Hop Project; not quite as good as the Citra version, but certainly better than the Cascade version. (1,013 characters)

Part of the single hop project from Way Beer, for a taste session of Citra, Cascade and Amarillo single hop American Pale Ales.
Amber color poured 3 fingers of head with bubbles that glued to the glass walls, medium retention.
Mild fruity aroma with sweet oranges and hints of honey.
Well balanced hoppy and malty flavor, fruity feeling, sweetness at a perfect level. Given that it had the highest drinkability between the other single hops from Way.
Prolonged dry and bitter aftertaste. Amarillo hop has an above average percentage of alpha acids than the others which explained to be bitterer then the others (assuming way included equivalent volumes to each project).
Light to medium body and low carbonation.
This one was the most balanced and with the highest drinkability among the project. For having three beers of the same I would prefer this one, for a single bottle I would take Citra. (896 characters)
