Visited on a Friday afternoon around 3:30pm. Happy hour was on going. Farily sparse crowd, but every seat at the bar was taken.
A - Open, clean, lots of windows, not too dark, nice long curving bar with nice wooden backed stools.
Q - All beer served in proper glassware. For example, my gose was served in a stange.
S - Two folks behind the bar. Paying attention to all. No long waits.
S - Excellent tap list. A concentration on Virginia beers. Also a bottle list of a few hundred. Something for everyone. Something you have not had.
V - Happy hour is an excellent value. My gose was only $2.50.

Great tap and bottle selectoin. Food is a bit pricey except for the $5 steak nights on Monday but its been good quality. Beers are pretty steep for the area. Some of the more special beers come in a super tiny snifter and are way overpriced. Service can be pretty spotty unless you are a regular. I believe they are expanding so maybe this will help with pricing if they can have more volume.

Great taphouse. Great food. Lots of beer on tap and about anything you want in a bottle. Nice tapas and entree menu with lots of variety. Live music on the weekends. Growler fills. Rare beers in bottles. Great mid week specials like N.Y. strip steaks for $5 believe it or not. Beers on tap rotate regularly. Worth trying if you haven't already. Can be extremely crowded Friday through Sunday.

What can you say.. the place is wonderful. Staff is amazing.
The beer selection is enormous and the owners palate is simply amazing.. I haven't had a bad beer there. The staff is also well versed in the selection and can give you a quality recommendation as well.
What really sits them apart from other establishments is the food. While you may go there for the excellent beer selection, you will stay for the food. No "bar food" here.. the menu is amazing, and as eclectic as the beer selection. So while there is a bar, and lot of beers to be had, this is an exceptional restaurant. For ever beer there is a complementary dish and vice versa.
Truly a great place to take friends and family if in the area and looking for a great place to get a good beer, and good food.

This is by far my favorite place to go to get a quality beer locally. The tap selection is admirable and changes almost daily. They have most of the brands beer lovers will recognize (Dogfish Head, Lagunitas, Bells, Stone, Flying Dog, Avery, Green Flash, etc) plus a few you won't. They also feature a fair amount of Virginia beers like Devils Backbone, Legend, and Blue Mountain. They always have a few on special.
They have a very large selection of bottles, but I prefer tap so that's all I can say.
A few that I've had recently that stood out were Blue Mountain Dark Hollow (a bourbon stout that is better than any I've ever had), Devil's Backbone 8 Point IPA. Fresh and pretty hoppy, and Brooklyn Post Road Pumpkin Ale. Very nice.
Atmosphere is pretty typical. A lot of wood, TV's at the bar. The huge open air bar (on one side) also opens up to a decent patio. The bartenders are always friendly and have no problem giving a sample before you commit.
My only gripe is the price of the food. A little high, but it is a step above typical bar fare so I guess it's to be expected. I've only had the flatbread pizza. Fairly inexpensive and very good.

I'm a bit of a beer geek and this place was meant for people like me. The food has always been good, but beer is the real reason I visit. They have the largest craft beer selection in Virginia and it seems to expand weekly. They do an excellent job of advertising thru social media and have weekly specials. You can visit their website and join their VIP section. It's also a great idea to like them on their facebook as well. They recently held an event featuring one of my favorite breweries, Dogfish Head. They had several of their hard to find beers on tap, had special give aways and even had some of the brewery's staff on hand. Although the building itself is not the easiest to find, it's right off of 288 and within a short drive for most folks here in Richmond. Go and check them out. It's well worth the visit.
