12 fl oz brown glass bottle with standard pressure cap served into a Dick's Last Resort pilsner glass in me sister's gaff in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Reviewed live. Expectations are above average given the style.
Served straight from the refrigerator. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.
A: Pours a 1.5 finger white colour head of decent thickness and cream, and average retention (~2 minutes). Colour is a clear pale yellow. Transparent and translucent. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show.
Sm: Pale malts and a hint of lemon citrus. That's really it. An average strength aroma.
T: Pale malts, artificial lemon, artificial lime, and some fruity hop esters. Built alright for the style. Not impressive. There's nothing unique or special here. Not real complex or subtle.
Mf: Smooth and wet. Not as crisp as it ought to be. Decent carbonation, but a touch overdone. Thickness is fair.
Dr: Drinkable but forgettable. A passable kolsch from Mankato. I wouldn't trifle with this again. Decently priced, I guess.

This is the first beer from the emerging brewery and as of now is available only on Draft.
Pours a straw-yellow with an impressive head and good lacing. Pretty attractive beer.
Smell is hop-forward with pine/floral hop notes indicating that this is more than your typical BMC brew. The brewers describe a subtle fruitiness in the aroma, but I'm not finding it. Malt plays a supporting role and does not give a performance worth remembering.
Taste is a little thin. Hops are more prominent than the aroma indicated. Malt is a little too weak to stand up to the bitterness that cuts through the palate and as a result it seems a bit off-balance for a Kolsch.
Mouthfeel is the weak point of the brew. Very drinkable but higher carbonation and such a thin body detract from the enjoyment of the beer for me.
Overall- not a bad beer, but leaves me wanting more. When I asked the waitress about it she told me people had been describing it as "hop-water." While I give it more credit than that the mouthfeel really does bring the brew down a few notches. I hope the brewery branches out with another style soon because I won't be ordering this one again until the summer heat hits hard.

12-oz bottle into mug
A - slightly-cloudy body of straw yellow under a couple fingers of white suds, high amount of visible carbonation, decent lacing
S - grainy with a touch of fruitiness (notes of grape & lemon), weak
T - light malts, notes of grape and lemon, floral hops, spicy/earthy notes
M - smooth medium body, high carbonation
O - MO is not bad, just unimpressive. Everything else I've had from MB is better than this.

The beer pours a fairly solid gold color with pretty good head retention and decent lacing. The beer really doesn't look half bad. On the nose, there's really not much there, but I do pick up a hint of dry citrus and some light biscuit. There's not a lot there on the palates as well, though the beer does have some decent bitterness on the finish. Otherwise, this beer is very light, dry and a bit watery on the finish. Mouthfeel is light and crisp, with a soft bitter finish. Alcohol is completely unnoticeable.
Wanted something light after the big Thanksgiving dinner, and this was certainly that. Pretty hard to imagine ever drinking this again, no matter what the circumstances.

This beer comes courtesy of cpolking, thanks. Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a light golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of malts, biscuits. Taste is the same, malts, biscuits, some hop presence, easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.
