Great place to see some great local bands while enjoying some great brews. 40ish craft taps that are always changing, bottle selection is limited to mostly BMC, best deal being the $3 PBR tallboys. St.Patty's day I went there to see a show and was surprised to see they had a keg of Nugget Nectar, the place was packed but almost no one there had ever heard of NN so the keg lasted all night. The only other place in Albany that matches their selection is City Beer Hall. I have only been there during shows so I am not sure what the atmosphere is like otherwise. Highly recommend going to catch a show by local bands Timbre Coup or Dirty Paris.

Red Square is one of the better local music venues in Albany. It's not really a place you'd go to other than for the music. It has a dive club atmosphere that works pretty well. The lower bar section is comfortable, and has a pool table. The upper stage area is more crowded and music focused. Beer selection is pretty average, but once in a while they'll have something good on tap. Overall, definitely worth coming here to check out some great local music, but there are much better options for beer and socializing.
