A crisp and refreshing lager made with California's own Meyer Lemons. Our goal with Anchor's Meyer Lemon Lager™ was to create a brew that would highlight the delectable character of this singular fruit: brightness without sharpness, fullness of flavor without heaviness, floral aroma without floweriness, complexity without cacophony.

Unknown vintage; drank 4/18/16 @ the Yarchives.
Semi-opaque orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a HUGE white head; frothy lace.
Faint lemon, orange & banana notes in the nose.
Thin mouthfeel. Faint lemon & orange citrus flavors up front; dry clove bite on the finish.
This would do on a summer day, I suppose, but it's decidedly average.

Decently long moderately sized head. Good lacing after each sip. Mildly hazy, the liquid is neutral gold.
The lemon is understated but very present. There is mild pale malt smell with a touch of hop.
The taste starts with sweet pale malt. The lemon seeps in quickly but never overwhelms. The flavor is devoid of any notable hop, relying on the sweet-sour combination to carry the brew. It reminds me of a lemon shandy from Britain. Leans thin but no more so than most light-colored lagers. It's refreshing and worth trying...once.

Much better than I expected. Between being a somewhat mild style and having a low .abv, I was expecting a fairly lame beer. Between the high level of carbonation and the Meyer Lemon, this was much more robust than I thought possible. Pours a very slightly hazy gold color from a 12 oz can into a pint glass. High carbonation level caused it to foam up as soon as the can was opened. Big fizzy white head with pretty good retention and some lacing on the glass. The combination of slightly sweet Meyer Lemon, wheat bitterness, and malt made it seem like there was some Belgian yeast involved. The yeastiness and sharp citrus make the aroma and flavor strong and impressive. Mouthfeel is sharp and crisp. The wheat bitterness and citrus bite kept things interesting. A very good light, summery beer.

Pours a clear gold. 1/4 inch an off-white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of lemons, honey, slight wheat, pale malt, and a hint of sweet malt. Fits the style of an American Pale Lager. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of pale malt, hint of sweet malt, slight honey, slight wheat, and slight lemon. Overall, a disappointment; weak appearance, distasteful body, with a uneven blend.

Single of unknown age, showing signs of oxidation unfortunately.
Bright saturated brassy gold, two fingers of sudsy foam. Aroma is lemony at first, fading to husky grain.
Taste is grainy with a light natural lemon flavor, balanced and not tart or sweet.
Unfortunately the creeping oxidation gives a cardboardy blandness, light bodied and well carbonated otherwise.
Seems like it might have been a nice summer refresher when actually fresh, in early February not so much.
