Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance - Light golden hue and very clear. Very thin almost unnoticeable head with heavy lacing and a good amount of carbonation. Lack of head could be from oil in glass.

Smell - Very faint scent of grass, straw, certainly not overwhelming. Malted wheat scent is apparent but not strong.

Taste - Extremely Light, bright wheat flavor with a mild hop kick. Malt is present but not overwhelming. A nicely balanced wheat beer.

Mouthfeel - Light to medium body. Refreshingly crisp, almost like an American light lager with significantly more taste.

Overall - Very enjoyable and refreshing. I am not usually a wheat beer drinker, but this one is very good. I like that this beer is not the traditional unfiltered, heavy wheat beer to I come to expect. Indeed this is a great summer beer and one that I would try again.

Appearance: Golden yellow color. Slight head on the pour which dissipated quickly and wasn't present while drinking. Active carbonation is extremely low.

Smell: Biscuity malt hits first. Crisp, sharp wheat opens up on the body. Semi sweet wheat has a pleasant creamy flavor. Mossy hops shine underneath with a touch of oak.

Taste: A touch of hops on the front. Crisp wheat composes the body of this brew. A touch of grainy malts linger on the back end. Finish is a medium bodied dryness.

Mouthfeel: Fairly clean, some airy wheat. Carbonation is on the lower end, a touch off base.

Overall: A fair summer beer. Nothing overly complex or interesting but still comes off as a decent beer.

A: Golden filtered with a few floating particles, no carbonation, a finger of foamed egg white head.

S: Lager, wet dog hair, offal, light citrus.

T: Lager like, some wet dog hair, offal, a little lager like crispness, light bitterness on the end. Almost non present banana.

M: Light body, highly carbonated.

O: A nice taste of history, marking how far American craft brewing has come. So much like an AA Lager, with a few tweaks that a novice wouldn’t pick up on, yet this was supposedly the first American wheat ale in the modern era. Got at Trader Joe’s Ashville.
