12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a clear gold color. The head looks great: it's three fingers high, white in shade, and with a superb creaminess. Webs of lacing linger nicely on the side of the glass.
S: Straight out of the bottle, it had a weird acidic tone. But in the glass, it's bringing little more than wheat and diacetyl. Just like the last beer I had, the nose is ridiculously bland. Not to mention, the buttery tones are too vivid.
T: Just like the nose: wheat with a side of buttery diacetyl. There is a bright spot in the subtly hopped finish (and I like how it gradually develops a mild citrus character), but otherwise, this is a big fat "meh."
M: At least it's pretty drinkable (even if it's because there's little to this brew). It has a crisp bite and decent carbonation. However, it's not very refreshing going down.
O: A better history lesson than an actual beer. All it has going for it is drinkability - and even then, there are other wheat beers I'd much rather drink. Without a doubt, this is my least favorite brew from Anchor.
