Pours a pitch-black color with a slightly syrupy consistency. Produces a rather large, caramel brown colored, foamy head, and a very large collar. Head slowly wanes resulting in a decent surface foam consisting of tightly packed, very small bubbles. Lacing on the glass is quite extensive throughout the drinking process.
Very pleasing aroma consisting of toasted malts, moderate amount of roasted nuts, a reasonable hit of coffee, and definitive hints of chocolate. Anchors Porter delivers a fairly sweet punch as well which readies the palette very well before the very first taste.
The taste is very enjoyable, quite rich and creamy with a very nice blend of malts and hops along with several nice bonus flavors like coffee, caramel, and sweet chocolate. Theres a very interesting pattern in this brew, which as is glides along your tongue almost mimics the consistency and flavorings of chocolate milk.
I dont drink Porters on a regular basis, but will say that this was one of the more enjoyable renditions of the ageless style that Ive had in quite some time. A tremendously well balanced, rich and creamy brew, with a very delivered kick of sweet flavorings. Ill be drinking more of this in the future.

A - dark brown, near black, creamy tan head, patching lacing
S - coffee, molasses, caramel, black malts, candied sugars
T - roasted malt, coffee, sweetness from some dark fruits like figs and dates, molasses, slight bitterness
M - medium to full bodied, some carbonation, chewy, creamy
O - Really great porter. Great combination and balance between the smell and taste from the roasted malt malts to the sweet molasses/caramel and dark fruits. Would certainly drink again,
