Poured the stubby into my pint glass a little too overzealously, causing the head to overflow, and fast. As always, there's no argument with this beer's looks. Solid head.
For it being dry-hopped, I expect a little stronger of an aroma. Not a big complaint, as it's a nice perfumey APA, I just wish I didn't have to strain so much for it. Either that or my olfactory senses are going to pot...but I do smell a clean, refreshing hoppy ale, piney and orange peel with a touch of caramel.
Complex for an APA. I can see how this was one of the original hoppy American ales back in the day...great hop flavor here, I actually get more orange peel than pine or grapefruit. Bitter, but not overwhelmingly so at all, giving those tasty caramel malts a chance at it.
Appropriately carbonated with a little bit of oily stick to it, but not too much.
How is this so drinkable, at 6%? I could easily see this being a go-to beer...well, it's one of my go-to beers, anyway. Tough to ask much more from this one - smooth, tasty, and really easy to drink. Anchor never, ever disappoints.

Appearance: dark golden colour with white and persistent head;
Smell: citrusy and grassy with some malt on the background;
Taste: well balanced between the hops and malt. Not so heavy on the hops side, as you usually expect in this style;
Mouthfeel: medium to light body with high carbonation and a little bitterness at the end;
Overall: a nice beer, well balanced, refreshing. Drinkability is very strong with this beer.
