Appearance: This beer pours a hazy amber orange color with a large head that has great retention and moderate lacing.
Smell: It is rather floral for an APA but well grounded in grain and not littered with annoying Diacetyl. Instead it is perfumey. Odd I know, but whatever floats your boat.
Taste: I must admit as a disclaimer I typically find this style rather boring. That said, this is slightly above average (even reaching the level of good) but I still think it is not much to contemplate. It is better to consider it a sessioner when throwing a party. There is a soft fruity flavor of apricots, sweet malts, grain and honey followed by a hint of cascade hops. I like APAs Like Alpha King that don't taste like the typical APA. This is a classic APA that everyone should be forced to drink to know; This is the bar by which to measure an APA good.
Mouthfeel: It is a smooth medium body beer but the cascades that do bleed into the palate cause it to feel larger in the mouth.
Drinkability: The flavor is so well balanced and there is nothing cloying or even enormous about the beer. It is simple and drinkable. It just goes down easy!
Hope this is helpful.
