[Suggested Glassware: Dimpled Mug]

The pour was a dark caramel brown with a large (3-4 finger) light brown sudsy head that lasted pretty much throughout, reducing slightly to a large cap and had good spotty lacing.

The aroma was of a sweet toasted dark bread malt, light resin hops and a doughy yeast along with notes of toffee, coffee, and dark fruit (plums).

The taste was lightly malty sweet with a pinch of toffee from the get go, progressing with a light roasty coffee presence and a mildly bitter hoppy ending. The flavor lasted an average time following the swallow, with a mildly roasty sweet fruity taste left behind.

Mouthfeel was almost medium in body with a thin dry texture and a mild carbonation.

Overall this was a very tasty and well balanced Brown Ale, which had a smooth and roasty aftertaste that just left you wanting another sip...

Appearance: 1 finger of anemic off-white foam settles to a nice, thin cap over the top of this deep, clearish, reddish-mahogony beer. Looks nice.
Smell: I can smell the hops, distinctly. Once you get used to that, you can detect a sweet, pleasant maltiness.
Taste: This beer is very well balanced. Slight carbonic bite and pleasant hoppy bitterness yields to nice malty sweetness, with a nice, sweet, toasty finish. Again, fantastically balanced.
Mouth-Feel: Carbonation is noticeable and seems to fight against the thickness of this beer. Pleasant overall, but adds little.
Overall: A very solid brew. It tases like a lighter, more balanced porter. I would buy it again, but my maximum would be two bottles. A tad syrupy, otherwise very decent.
