The best liquor store to go to in the Leominster/Fitchburg area.

When you walk in and look straight back, there's a large lighted sign that says "Microbrews,'' so that's where I head to.

Although it has nowhere near the selection of say, a Julio's liquors in Westborough, it's not bad at all.

They have a good selection of local craft beers, as well as others from around the country.

It also has several Belgian and English beers available.

The beer manager is also helpful. If there's a beer you want and they don't have, he's always willing to order it, as he did recently for the Rogue Imperial Stout in the ceramic bottles.

As an aside, they also have a decent selection of wine if your'e into it.

Surprisingly good selection of craft beer for the location. As the name suggests, the store is geared toward wine and spirits, but they still have enough beer that you'll always walk out of there with something good. The guy who manages the beer section is friendly and helpful. They suffer from the same issues that plague most beer stores: only a small part of their craft selection is in coolers and freshness can be hit or miss depending on what happens to be moving.

As a local, this place is probably one of the best for microbrews in the area, along with some other beers from around the country. I was very impressed with what I could find when I first started out looking for new brews. I was lucky to find some of the beers I did because I'm used to trekking out to Western Mass to find good microbrews. Price wise, it's really reasonable as well.

Another time I brought back some Cripsin from Cardulo's in Harvard Square and my mom really took to it, so she brought a bottle in and asked if they had it. They didn't, but the guy she talked to was very intrigued about it because he'd never seen it before and ordered a case to sell in the store. I'm always gonna be impressed with this place.

Happened to be going to the new Buffalo Wild Wings located in the same plaza when I noticed this liquor store. Figured what the hell and went in while waiting for the restaurants buzzer to go off.

I was pleasantly surprised with the selection. Was not expecting the nice craft brew selection they have along the back wall. They had some Dogfish World Wide Stout along with some other nice bottles that I picked up. Service is almost nonexistant each time I've been there, with the exception of once where I got hooked up with a bottle of Element's Brix that was not on display. I make sure to check this place out each time I'm in the plaza.

This is a great place for craft beer if you're in the north central Massachusetts area. I don't think you'd have much trouble finding what products they have here at other decent places in other parts of the state, but this seems to be the place of choice for good beer drinkers in the Fitchburg/Leominster area. I grab a few east coast-only items that I've been meaning to try for a good long while, such as Dogfish Head 90min, Three Philosophers, and Magic Hat. While browsing I noticed a few out-of-the-neighborhood brews like a good selection of Rogue's products. Of course there's also plenty of Coors, Bud and the like as well as wine.

This is the closest large beer store to my home in NH so I've been there many times. Selection varies throughout the year but is generally quite extensive. As with many large stores, however, freshness can be a problem. Store is particularly good for the local Z St. and Wachusett lines where freshness is excellent. I'm somewhat dubious as to the turnover of some of the imports so am quite careful in that area. I personally prefer Julio's in Westboro but that's a much greater distance from me. Thus, I generally stop at Kappys whenever I'm traveling on Rte. 2 in the area and almost always find things to buy. I'd recommend it to anyone passing through
