Review #2000. Thanks, Chris.
Pouring a clear light yellow with a dense white head with excellent retention and good lacing. The nose is excellent. Bright and fruity with a blend of peach, apricot, green grapes, some floral honey, a mild grain character - husk, straw and cracker like malt, a moderate funk with barnyard , earth, straw and some rotting lemons, this is exceptional. A pronounced sourness, a blend of lactic and mild lemon and a hint of acetic, this is seriously refreshing stuff.
The palate opens bright, fruity and sour with dry, mineraly and fruity white wine - peach, apricot, grapes, mineral, a little cider - followed by a blend of honey, lemony sourness, lactic and yogurty acidity and straw like and doughy malts. Minimally dusty, mildly earthy, mildly spicy with white pepper and a little clove, this beer is light in body, highly carbonated and with a fantastic finish that's long, funky, fruity and sour, this is excellent. Makes me think of a lower ABV NZ Sauvignon Blanc that's finished with Brett. Highly recommended.
