Canned on 12/21/21; consumed on 2/7/22

Pours a foggy, burnt orange/copper body capped with multiple fingers of fluffy, soapy, white foam; excellent head retention leaves a finger and a half of near-creamy cap, a lush, moderate cap, and an extensive array of webby lacing coating the walls of the glass in their entirety.

Aroma brings fresh pine and undertones of grapefruit peel accented with soft, flaked malts upfront as subtler orange pith with edges of lemon zest progress; floral lavender adds nuances to the citric waves on the back end as shreds of mango linger.

Taste opens to subtleties of overripe pink grapefruit with pine coursing throughout and soft cherry esters in the distance; the mid-palate gives way to wet moss and flaky malt accents, while tinges of lemon peel find balance against orange zest into the finish.

Mouthfeel offers a medium body with moderate carbonation, imparting fluffy, creamy textures with a resinous underscore; a slight, hoppy twang progresses into the back end, where a delicate, focused bitterness balances the finish.

A refined west coast take on the American IPA, with the aggressive contrasts of bitterness and hop resin presence that traditionally define the style evolving quietly beneath attenuated waves of citrus and pine; truly delicate and consummately drinkable, this one finds softer edges in rawer hop expressions.

Nose smells old but the can is young. Very spicy on the palate with a healthy malt base with lingering citrus. Big medium body that's semi-dry on the tongue. Tastes far better than it smells.

Growler to glass.
Cloudy tea-like appearance. Nice fluffy white head retention.
Smell has the classic west coast piney crispness, with citrus fruits.
Taste same but sweet balance in the backseat. Bitterness definitely plays a major role. For some reason getting an interesting taste like leathery just faintly.
Thick mouthfeel which really accentuates the cloudy unfiltered appearance.
Overall absolutely delicious. My take is that they used west coast hop style and the cloudiness is a result of being unfiltered nectar.
