Bottle shared at the brewery. Deep dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma oscillates from red wine and grape skins in one whiff to roasty malts and dark chocolate the next. Big jammy red wine character with tart strawberries, evolving into a milk chocolate and cocoa powder finish with lingering lactic acidity. Smooth and quite dry.

Pours black with a small light brown head. Some lacing, decent retention though there's not much to retain. The aroma is big on red wine barrel. There's some chocolate and roast lingering in there but they're lurking towards the back. Raspberries, cherries, blackberries, red grapes, plums, pluots. Taste is tart and fruity. Not much of the base beer is left. There's some mild roast and chocolate but even less than the aroma. Lots of berries. Mouthfeel is pretty light with gentle bubbles. Definitely a wild ale feel. Some decent pucker in the finish. This is a very good dark sour. I'm not the biggest fan of dark sours but this is a solid one.
